Post Alamo City Comic Con!

Had a blast at Alamo City CC!  This is definitely the biggest comic convention I have ever been to.  It was almost overwhelming at times, but once we got through the picture and autograph lines it got a lot better.

We only got to go on Saturday and Sunday.  On Saturday we knocked out all the photo ops.  We got pictures with Milly Bobby Brown (Eleven from “Stranger Things”) , the 3 main voice actors from the game GTA 5, and my wife got her picture made with Ralph Macchio…one of her first “actor crushes”  awwww!  We also got to sit in on the Milly Q&A panel.  The rest of the day was spent walking through all of the vendors and artists and just trying to take as much in as possible.

Sunday was the day to really take in the show.  While my wife and daughter went to the “Stranger Things” panel with the guys from the series, my boys and I made our way through the many vendors and artist that were there displaying their work.

My favorite part of any these conventions is getting to talk to the artists and creators.  Even after 3 days of talking they still seem to light up when you ask them questions about their work.  They know not everyone is a buyer, but showing real interest in what they do and how they make it helps make all the “how much is it?” and walk aways feel a little better.  There were times I wished I had the money to buy everything I liked that weekend.  The talent is remarkable at these shows and I would love to be able to support them all, but my pockets are not near deep enough to be able to do that, so the least I like to do is talk to them, ask them questions, and get a business cards, most of them have sites that they sell their stuff from.   Also, 2 of the artists I saw, I had seen at conventions earlier in the year, so it was fun to talk to them and ask how their year had been and see what new works they had done.

Another fun thing about this show was all of the great cosplays! I forgot my camera and my phone died ( I know, total rookie mistake, I won’t let it happen again! lol) We missed the cosplay contest, but watching everyone walk around, it was amazing seeing the work put in to soo many of their costumes.

Alamo City was a great convention for me and my family and we are already planning on next years show.  We definitely learned a few things that we will do different next time we go, like take a back pack of snacks, and food.  I love that there is food available at the show because I hate having to break up my time going back and forth for lunch and stuff, but I hate that convention centers take full advantage of a “captive” audience.  Just like any sports event or fair I’ve ever been to, they really make sure to push it on prices.  So we will limit the amount of inside food we will need to get next time by packing it in!  LOL

Did you make it to the Alamo City Convention this year?  If so, how did you like it?  What was your favorite part?  What would you recommend for me for next time?   Or do you have any suggestions for any convention I go to?  Any cons that I need to try and get to?

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page!  Don’t forget to follow!!

OverWatch!

Wanted to post up a few videos of some of the OverWatch games I’ve had lately on the PS4.  I’ve had some really fun and really frustrating games!

This was an escort mission that started out a little slow, but once we got going, it moved along pretty steady.  I catch the other team with a flank that almost wipes their team and gets me the POTG!  Enjoy!

Here is one of my Reinhardt matches.  I had fun on this one because my team really took advantage of Reinhardt’s shield and we got to move into the zones pretty quickly.  I got into it with the other Reinhardt and missed pinning him…I died :(.  I made up for it at the next point!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have you been playing any OverWatch?  What do you think about it??

PAX South!!

This is my first year to attend Pax South, located in San Antonio Texas.  This is the 2nd year of the “Southern” Pax, and I can’t wait to check it all out.  This year it runs Jan 29-31st.  I unfortunately missed Friday, but twitter, and instagram are full of posts about how great the first day was, and how much everyone is looking forward to the rest of the weekend.

Be sure to check back for my posts and impressions of this show!

I’M SO EXCITED!!!

If you have any suggestions for things I NEED to check out while I’m here please be sure to leave me some comments!! Or send me some suggestions on Twitter!!

Thanks

Back at it!!

Helloo!!!! Man it has been a crazy year on all levels of my life. But one thing is for sure, gaming has been pushed to the back.  The good news….I’m back!!!

I have not necessarily been away from gaming, but I have definitely been away from the “social” side of my gaming.  Very little streaming, very few YouTube creations and my idea of a podcast was pushed waayyyy back.  But not for much longer.

I have finally settled into a more regular play schedule with my “guys” and even started finding more time to stream and work on my streaming set up.  And now after lots of thought and struggle, it looks like I will finally record my first podcast.  No hints as to what it is yet, but format has pretty much been set.

There will be at least two of us, but I’m hoping to get some of the other guys in my gaming “crew” to be pretty regular on it.  As you can guess, it’s going to be a gaming podcast, but with a slight spin on most gaming podcasts.  Not sure how it will turn out, but looking forward to the experience of recording it, publishing it, and hearing it turn into its own thing.

While you wait for that here is a little of what I have been doing the last few weeks.  I have played and finished GTA V on the Xbox 360 a few years ago, but over the last year I have picked it up again for the PS4.  My buddies and I have gone through most of the missions and have completed all of the “Heists.”  I have been replaying the single player missions with the goal of beating the game again… but probably with all of the side quests this time.  I have been recording and publishing these quests as kind of a walk through for other players.  Here are two videos that i have completed.

This is one of the intro missions for Trevor, one of the main characters of the story.

Here is another for Trevor.  The last mission that leads him into town looking for his long lost partner.

Like I said earlier, I have already completed this game once, but I just seem to keep coming back to it. Great gameplay, fun and interesting story, and cool customizable cars!!

Thanks again for stopping by! Please be sure to like the videos and follow me on my channel.

Also stop by the stream sometime and hang out! If i’m not there be sure to follow and it will let you know the next time I am on!

Have you played through GTA V yet?  If so, leave a comment with your favorite GTA moment!

2014 in review

I’m trying to get more consistent but at least I did more than last year!! That’s already a plus!! See you in 2015!!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 430 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 7 trips to carry that many people.
